Need ur attention...

I will try to be as humble as I can in chosing my words, but if you get hurt morally or emotionally it can be assumed to be a very intentional attempt. Rather I would like you to get hurt.....

Recently the CWG 2010 has depicted the pictures of our hon'ble ministers. I still wonder how these politicians have changed the meaning of the word "honorable" over a short period of time. I don't know how many of you are aware of it, but as much as 84000 crores of Indian Rupees have been spent by the government where as the initial proposed budget was 3000 crores. People have reached such a level of corruption that the number is expected to reach around 120000 crores.

Just think of it for a moment... why a poor country like India needs to organize CWG... seems like our govt. is thinking to have a global status. What kind of policy is this?? Why do they want to serve other nations keeping the lives and future of our own citizens at stake? The Bhopal Gas Tragedy culprit exercises complete freedom by simply paying a very small amount.. whereas people are still seeking for justice.

Politicians like Mayawati are offered garlands made of 1000 rupee notes and no one (even our judiciary, which is supposed to be free from politics) ever questions where the money is coming from. The CBI has given clean chit to Mayawati in "आय से अधिक संपत्ति" issue. Even a layman can tell the truth. Coming back to CWG issue, in attempt to reflect the picture of RICH and PROSPEROUS INDIA, the govt. has ordered the schools to remain closed so that the slum people can be jailed in those schools and will therefore be not allowed to come out of those jails during the CWG. कोई देश कितना गिर सकता है...कोई भारत से पूछना..... !! x-( :(

Dear Mayank,
Hosting CWG ws "MEANT" to increase tourism and hence income for the nation, though at present the organizers are busy making income for themselves...That's sad, but the thing more sad is that youth like you are thinking so low about the nation...I don't say to blindly follow, "MERA BHARAT MAHAAN", gone are those days, but still you can bring in the change, if you are not optimistic, don't be pessimistic..!!!

i have written this blog so that people may come up with a solution. CWG is just an example and it instigated my concerns about India a lot. An IAS officer demands money from poor farmers in assurance of providing him a job of a peon and then flees to US, and you know what that farmer said, "Bhaiya ab mere paas khali biwi ka mangalsutra bacha hai. soch raha hun ki use bech kar 1 chaku khareed lun aur khud ko aur pariwar walo ko jaan se maar dun."

120000 crores if distributed to the poor of the country would have definitely left India with zero poverty . And how can govt. think of jailing its poor ans increasing their miseries and sufferings. AUR ITNA SAB HONE KE BAAD BHI SHEELA DIXIT GOVT. ITNE SAALO SE GADDI THAME HUE HAI KYUNKI JO IS GOVT. KO BADALNA CHAHTE HAIN UNHE VOTING CARDS NAHI ISSUE HOTE. :(

You gave me a few, I and others can add more to the above list of examples of corrupt people. I didn't meant that it will be easy going to bring in the change, people have been trying and will be trying to make India a better place.

Talking of Sheela Dixit, yaar kabhi na kabhi to buddhi tapakegi, lets hope uske type ka koi chamchaa naa aaye...!!! :P

Dear Baranwal,

First of all, it is good to read your blog on the CWG issue. Having known you for over three years now, I can definately say that you are a person who is interested in national issues unlike many of our current generation.

Coming to the case of CWG, I am a person who always hoped that our country should host some or the other sports event. I have never understood the fact why despite having so many national level stadiums, India does not bid to host the Cricket World Cup alone. Similarly I wished about other sports as well. It is true that hosting any international sports meet is expensive as it involves worldly reputation but the aftereffects are always positive. City develops a lot, very good tourism, infrastructure and above all the sports spirit comes in people, which as of now, India needs desperately.

I completely agree with you about the lavish and ruthless budget spent by the government in the name of building the glory of India. It is pretty sad to be a witness of their heinous act and yet helpless to do anything. But I am overall happy that the country is hosting the CWG. At least the people by now should have identified the real face of politicians behind the mask of CWG committee. Even if we act now and ensure that these faces are completely wiped out in the next general elections, that would indeed be a remarkable step taken by us.
